Drogheria e Alimentari S.p.A. — founded in 1880 — has been led by the Carapelli and Barbagli families since 1987, which have turned it into a top-notch company in the sector of spice, herb and condiment production. It has continued to grow over recent years to reach a leadership position on the Italian market (with a share over 40%, including its own and private label brands), plus exporting premium price spices to 65 countries (20% of sales). Several Italian brands have recently been acquired, including Nuova Terra (cereals, beans and soups), I Toscanacci (game sauces) and Maribù (dessert decorations). Drogheria is located in one of Europe’s most state-of-the-art facilities in San Piero a Sieve (near Florence), employing over 130 people groupwide. It became part of the ELITE program in 2012, an Italian Stock Exchange project to support small and medium enterprises and help them approach financial markets.
